Watch Me Jump Over

For the next few months, Watch Me Jump Over will be very, very quiet.  This Friday, the Mrs. and I leave for a few months of traveling throughout the US.  Follow along here at Mantle and Match.  Tah for now!

I just saw Lucian Freud’s obituary in the Times and recalled that the first (perhaps only?) painting of his I’ve seen in person was this one at the National Portrait Gallery in London.  It was remarkable and the collection itself was so overwhelming that JTK and I went back twice that week.

Special thanks to Martha Wilson at The Franklin Furnace for this image from her archives.

Note the credit!  I worked for Martha way back in 2004 in the Franklin Furnace archives and must have moved this very slide when we had to crate everything for the move from Lower Manhattan to Dumbo.
